Obama's i-Vacation

Apparently President-Elect Obama, who has been so tech-forward throughout his campaign, will be giving up his famous Blackberry when he takes office in January. Why? There are just too many safety and public scrutiny concerns with the President having the ability to access and send email. (Could you just imagine the things we would have heard if George W. Bush was sending email and it was somehow leaked? I shudder at the thought). Read more...

I'm relatively new to this world of instant communication - but I can surely say that it is quite addictive. I agree with your point that removing him from these outlets may essentailly remove him from his constituents. However, I have every confidence that he will task a 'special assistant' with the job of carrying a blackberry, and blogging etc. - it just won't be in his name.
