Keepin' It Simple

I've been reading a bunch of mommy-blogs this week and hearing about everyone's extravangant Easter plans. Well, I am tickled pink to say that this is going to be a stress-free holiday for the Fergies. And I'm excited about it. [Remember MamaLaw #2?] Don't get me wrong, it will still be tons of fun for the girls, but no not much extra work for mom. Tomorrow the girls have been invited to an outdoor Easter Egg Hunt which should be fun, snow flurries and all (gah!), and then Sunday we'll have our own egg hunt at home and then after church, I'm making a an easy but yummy Easter dinner of Salad, Rolls, Paella and Cake. That's it. That's all. And of course Auntie Lisa is town so the girls may as well be at DisneyWorld.

Anyhoo, I hope you all have a very happy Easter. And minimal stress! After all, that's not what this holiday is all about, is it?

It's all about the Cadbury creme eggs. Obviously.

No big Easter dinner here. It's a potluck. And easy peasy easter egg hunt. KIS is my motto :)

Is it wrong if I don't have baskets? Okay, it is. I do have some toys I bought, but so far that's it. ANd we have some nice baskets from last year that I saved. I don't have the energy this year. Plus, they had several parties at school, already did egg hunts so I'm good right???

We are doing a big family dinner after church. And the important thing is that Oldest knows the reason for the holiday. I have made sure of that.

Well, the toys I bought at the dollar store were a huge hit!! I put them in one of the baskets from last year, left a trail to were the basket was hidden and, voila!! No one seemed to even notice that I barely had any grass in the basket, or that I put some of the toys that were sent from Grandma's house because "the Easter Bunny thought the [kids] were going to be at Grandma's for Easter." They had a blast. Plus we had two egg hunts at the family dinner.

Well, I had a great Easter. My family shared Easter Sunday with the Fergusons and it was great (and easy, of course). J. Fergie did a great job with dinner. The kids have fun regardless...and we loved getting together with their family. Thanks, Fergie.

We got DD a kitten for Easter (and have named it "Easter" -- quite fitting and original, you say!) She's having a ball with the kitten. He's 13 weeks old and I honestly believe that he understands that she's a baby and isn't as gently as he would like. She's trying to boss him around - it's the funniest thing ever:) So, that was our Easter. No eggs, but a kitten and great company with great friends.
