"Someone Get that Child!"

Today was the first day of school for two of my three. Last year, Little B had, shall we say, a "rough" time getting readjusted to school. This rough period included a little kicking and screaming for about a week. A teacher or two may have gotten, ahem, kicked. There may have been a situation or two where he may have run out of the classroom.

Last year, my little Missy did great. She started a new school and walked right into the building, proud and happy. She didn't look back.

So as you can only imagine, I was just a teensy anxious about Little B starting this week. I've been prepping him all summer but I was still worried. Yesterday, I took him to school, showed him the classroom even though he's already familiar with it because Little Missy had his new teacher two years ago. And last year, we would see her almost every day because her class was just down the hall from his classroom.

So what happened this year? Rather than go into all the unnecessary details of who got kicked, which parent tried to disown his child in the hallway and even said, "Someone get that child!" as he was walking away from the classroom while other parents balked at our child's screams, here are just a few pictures of how things went. Enjoy!

Time to get going!
Someone looks thrilled.
Someone else, not so thrilled.

"Mommy and Daddy have to go now...."

"Okay, let's close the door this time so that someone stops trying to run out!"

Let's see if we can just.pry.his. fingers.off.this.door. And I will smile so that you can't tell just how embarrassed I am about this entire situation.

"This is going to be the best day of my life!"

Oh, man, that was too funny. I love that you got it all on camera so you can show them when they get older. I know it probably wasn't funny when you were there, but just know that by taking the pictures and posting them, you've helped calm my fears of the first day of school for me! Thanks for sharing! :)
