I'm just so excited to post this week's menu plan because my family will be having delicious meals with minimal effort on Mommy's part since Justice Ny, my friend Nat and I made all of these meals yesterday to freeze and use as we please! We made all of these main dishes in less than 2 hours and for about $50 (per family). Doesn't get any better than that. The One-Armed Cook saved the day again with easy and tasty recipes.

Monday: Broiled Lemon & Brown Sugar Chicken, Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Veggies

Tuesday: Salad, Grilled Asian Salmon and Rice Noodles

Wednesday: Leftovers

Thursday: Mango Curry Chicken & Garlic Naan
(naan courtesy of Trader Joe's)

Friday: Chicken Cacciatore & Linguini

Saturday: Thai Shrimp & Jasmine Rice

Sunday: Superbowl Treats!
[I could care less about the game, but I'm all about the snacks]

This is really the best idea in the world. Three of us got together and we each made a dish or two and after two hours, three families had five meals ready to go for the week (or in my case, three-four weeks:)

It worked out well because the labor was cut in thirds, it was cost-effective, and we still had girl time (and of course, play time for the kids).

I am so excited by this process that I am interested in getting recipes for our next session.

Oh, I miss the days of getting together with a girlfriend and cooking for a week or two and freezing our family's meals! I now live too far away from the friend that I did this with....oh well :) Your menu sounds great, and the best part is, you got to spend some great time with your girlfriends!

Be blessed!

What a great idea and the menu looks delicious!!

You were asking about the Zucchini Slaw recipe. If you click on the name of the recipe you will find that it is linked to the actual recipe. Let me know if you have any trouble finding it.

Have a great week!

Your recipes look awesome. I use our slow cooker lot and lots and have never had a problem, but I do have another friend whose husband is afraid to leave it all day without anyone home. I'm here most of the time, but did leave it unattended when I was working. Maybe try a google search on the safety. Have a super week!

Wow, that's great that you got all of this done ahead of time. It all sounds delicious!

I know what you mean about the Super Bowl. Although I do love football and love the game, I also love the food too :)

Have a great week!

Geez - you guys are organized. I have 1 child and no time. I'm lucky if we get cold cereal for dinner.

Thanks for the compliment on my blog...and yes, I did design it myself.

Nice that you already have all that done and ready to use, very smart!
I love snacks too, you didn't put what you're fixing for the super bowl! Thanks for stopping by.

Hi there

Thanks for visiting my blog. I would love to cook with others but only if I can boss them around (I'm a bit of a control freak in the kitchen LOL)

About the control journal, it was so easy once I got started. I think that's the key.

Just start writing out what you do every week, then split it all up and there you go. it's a work in progress but it definitely helps.

I feel that things are far more under control than before.

If you want help, just shout!

Marcia

Good work! I've done a bit of the "do-ahead cooking" thing - but not much. The One-Armed Cook looks worth checking out - even for those of us who have resumed use of both arms! I miss Trader Joe's! Have a great week!

I will have to check into the one armed cook, also love the idea of getting together to prepare meals! I have a small group that is trying to come up with fun ways to get healthier, this could be a fun thing to do! Thanks for stopping by, have a blessed week!

Ahh, I really really have wanted to try the one-armed cook book, ever since I first heard of it! Someday. :)

Cooking with your friends sounds like so much fun! I wish I had a friend nearby who liked to cook ahead. :)
