The Truth Will Set You Free

So today we took the kids to their well child visits. (Chase and Cydney had appointments, Little B. was just along for the ride. And yes, Chase turned 5 two months ago but just now getting around to making the appointment and taking him. Again, don't sweat the small stuff). While the doctor was examining Chase, she asked, "[d]o you brush your teeth every morning and every night?" Chase shly looked at DH and said, "[n]o, sometimes my Daddy forgets." So the doctor looks at Daddy and I could tell he was trying to come up with something to say but really had no legitimate reason, excuse, defense so the doctor turns to Chase and says, "well, if he forgets, you can not!"

It's instances like this that make me glad that I didn't waste my breath, energy, etc. into getting into a big dispute with DH re: his "forgetfulness." I just make sure I do a smell test every morning. He was thoroughly embarrassed and so hopefully he's learned his lesson.

Now THAT made me laugh out loud. [and great title btw!] Good for the doctor and Mr. Chase. You are right - the doctors words did more good than anything you could have said...

What a coincidence - Lauren had her 9 month well-baby visit today too. She weighs 20.3 lbs [See J.Ny, last week you said she couldn't possibly weigh 20 lbs!] She had to get her immunizations, give a hemoglobin sample AND get a flu shot. Poor baby!

So she can now start to eat dairy products and meats! Time is going by too fast. I miss the itty bitty baby months already...

It was really funny. I snickered - really loud.

Miss Lauren is a whopper!! Little B. checked in at 18.8 pounds 2 weeks ago. What a big girl. Cyd. and Chase got flu shots as well. I opted not to give B. one. He was so happy and peaceful during the visit, I couldn't bear it. I hate shots. Cydney is mortified of the doctor's office and Daddy could not hold Cydney down for her check up. It was major drama and he broke into a sweat trying to hold her down. Last time I took her alone and it took me and TWO nurses to hold her down just to check her ears. No kidding. So after that whole ordeal, we said forget it for Little B.

It must be doctor's visits time b/c Lady Day had hers last week. She weighed in at 23.8 pounds. J. Fergie, that's why I couldn't believe that DD2 was anywhere near 20 pounds because my chunky one is only 23 pounds.
Anyway, J. Jones...you always have the most hilarious stories. I'm happy that the doctor solved this problem for you. I am learning that everything falls into place and don't even bother fussing over the small stuff. As you can see, this fell into place without you ever saying anything. And, I'm also learning that when DHs hear stuff from everyone other than DWs, they listen. So, good for you. You got the point across without saying a word!
