Plea...

So, despite the obvious fact that it will cause an argument between me and DH, I am proud to say that I have located and contacted a potential housekeeper. She is supposed to come over tomorrow to give us a quote for housekeeping services, including laundry (woo hoo!) and possibly even cooking (yahoo!). That would be a dream... Just like the illustrious "Evelyn" that we all have heard so much about, I need a "Lystra!" Lystra is the name of my sister's and my (is that proper english?) childhood nanny. She was the best. She moved to Canada with us from Trinidad and really and truly became part of the family. She cooked, cleaned, gave us baths - you name it, Lystra did it. What a lifesaver she must have been to my mom who worked/works full-time. Anyway, I'll let you guys know how it goes - I hope the MommyFairy is listening!

You go Mama!! You need the help. If you have your "own" dispensible income (meaning an account with funds that you can do whatever you want with) then I say use those funds the first 2 or 3 times your Lystra comes. After that, DH will enjoy the fact that everything is taken care of in the home and will probably not put up a big fight, if any, to keep her coming. And hopefully, by this time, you'll feel less stressed and therefore, you'll be a better wife. End result, happier DH and happier family. :)

That is exactly my plan. It means less disposable income for me but i think it will be worth it the end!

UPDATE: The housekeeper meeting went well! Shermaine will begin on Friday and I am very excited. Her rates are very reasonable and will be well-worth it. My house isn't even clean yet and already I am sighing with relief. I can't get my hair done until next paycheck, but who needs to look fly when they are hanging out in their CLEAN house??

Well that is great!! We finally have a housekeeper again - after almost a year without one. This time one who will come every 2 weeks (as opposed to about every 4-8 weeks as in the past). I can't keep up with all the kids, cooking, blah, blah, blah. So DH has been doing about 70 % of housework (minus laundry, bathrooms and other things that really need to be done on a regular basis). So of course, he's tired so of course, time to hire the help. Isn't that interesting. (That's a statement, not a question).

Extremely interesting. And comical all at the same time.

ANOTHER UPDATE:
Shermaine came to clean the house. She was OKAY but nothing to write home about. I could have done a better job myself and since I was home on Friday anyway, it might not have been so bad if I did. So I'm a tad peeved. And back on the hunt for the perfect housekeeper...
