There's A First Time for Everything

Yesterday was the first time I voted for a president, ever. Not because I'm a political deadbeat, but because I just became a U.S. citizen last year. I was so excited. I took the two little ones with me and we were chanting Obama's name all the way to the check-in table. It was fun until Little B started saying his name while I was at the booth casting my ballot. I had to zip his lips immediatly in fear that someone would kick me out. I don't think anyone really knew what he was saying but ya never know. I didn't want to take any chances.

Also, here's me, Oldest, and some friends at an Obama rally a few weeks ago. Don't ya love my shirt? My friend, pictured with me, made them. Aren't they fab? (Shamless plug- contact me if you wish to purchase one and I'll hook you up!)

Don't forget to early vote if your state offers it.

Congratulations JJ! I wish I could be in your shoes but I am not a citizen. What a time to be a foreigner?!!?!? My mom, who still lives in Canada, just emailed me last night that she, like many others Canadians, are more interested in our election than their own, which occured a couple weeks ago. That shows how historic this election really is.

We're political junkies - it's all we watch in the morning and it's all we watch and talk about in the evening and I think DD's getting the hang of it all. I'm sure she's realizing too that some of the tvs in the house do not ever have the Disney Channel on at all. Anyway, she's now well versed in identifying "barack andobama" -- that's her name for him and I think she's sticking to it. "Barack andObama" - it's the cutest thing to hear too!!! I hope to hear her calling his name for at least the next 8 years!!!

Do you know how early votes will be counted? Are they like absentee and only counted after? Or are the live counted? I was going to early vote, but was afraid what that means. Also, I like the lines and excitement of voting day.

Yeah for your first time voting. Love seeing the two kids and how excited they were to be at such a historical rally. Love the shirts too! Are they for sale? Where can I get one?
