Come On In!

Fa-la-la-la-la...

Due to technical difficulties that I won't dare bore you with, I am late in getting photos of our holiday swag up, as part of
BooMama's Christmas Tour of Homes, but all's well that ends well, so without further ado...Season's Greetings from the Fergie Household!

And I really wouldn't be a good hostess if I didn't offer you something to eat, so please try some of my tasty Bourbon Meatballs. I've made then for two holiday parties already this year, and they were a huge hit. Here is the recipe from
Southern Living, with some of my own modifications:

Ingredients:
2 cups barbecue sauce

1/2 cup bourbon

1 cup honey

1 cup prepared dijon mustard

1/8 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

1 (32-ounce) package frozen cooked Italian-style meatballs, thawed

Preparation:
Cook first 5 ingredients in a Dutch oven over medium heat 5 minutes. Add meatballs; bring to a boil. Reduce heat, and simmer 25 minutes. Yields 10 to 12 appetizer servings

But save room for dessert. You must try my
White Chocolate and Peppermint Cookie Brittle. It's heavenly. Which is, you know, appropriate at this particular time of year.

And now it's time to survey the decking of the halls.

Our front door wreath.
The tree. And if the star looks a tad crooked, well, it is thank you for noticing. Hubby promises to fix it for us any day now. The kids really hand a big hand in decorating the tree this year. And it's killing me.

The kitchen mistletoe.

The dining room buffet. Notice the vases filled with the pretty tree ornaments that I couldn't put on the tree because Conan-na the Barbarian, and her sidekick, the Mini-Destroyer wouldn't let them last one day on the tree.

The dining room table centerpiece. And if you have the nerve to suggest I iron the tablecloth, well you can just see yourself out. You know where the front door is - it's the one with the wreath on it.

Ahem.

One living room endtable. That's a Russ reindeer that I got at a holiday party gift exchange. He's much cuter in person.

And the other endtable with my glittery holiday tree. Are you trying to block out the toys that keep creeping in the pictures? Me too.

The mantel. You can't see it, but the stocking holders spell "PEACE."

The Kwanzaa table. "Habari Gani!"

And that's it! Despite what I just realized may come across as a very sarcastic post, I really do love our holiday decorations. Especially at night when everything is a glow. To see more holiday homes, visit BooMama and house hop away.

*Happy Holidays! *

I think if it were me, I would leave the star crooked. We actually have a BEAR on top of our tree. Made out of a toilet paper roll. 16 yars ago. When my oldest son was in kindergarten. It has sat on top of our tree ever since then! (well... you know... at Christmas time!) And sometimes it's sat crooked! :) Love your decorations! Including the Kwaanza table!

Everything looks so pretty and festive! I am feeling your pain about the kids helping decorate the tree.

Great decorations! And you are so smart to put the Kwanzaa decorations out now. I always promise myself that I'll put them out on the 26th and then, of course, I never do. Next year it is so on!

I was told by an interior designer that not ironing the table cloth adds character to your table. I don't know, maybe she's right. The house looks awesome! I love the Kwanzaa table!

Wow! Your decor is amazing. I really like your Kwanzaa area.
My son mentioned last year that he wanted to observe Kwanzaa this year. I feel bad that I didn't get it done this year especially since my JnJ chapter didn't do its annual Kwanzaa celebration. Oh well, there's always next year. LOL!

I love everything, especially the bourbon balls! And my tablecloth is not ironed, either.

Enjoyed your tour! A crooked star never hurt anybody, and it lends a sort of whimsical air to the tree! ;)
